Ruffalo Talks “Buddy Road Movie” Thor: Ragnarok

Image: geek.com

I probably rank the first Thor higher than most on my personal MCU list (which I spend hours re-ranking after every entry, come on, we all do it!) and Thor: The Dark World lower than most, so Ragnarok really could fall anywhere. But it’s certainly promising to hear comments like this from The Incredible Hulk himself Mark Ruffalo when talking to E! Online, he said;

“It’s an intergalactic buddy road movie with Banner and Thor. I think it will be smashing. You’ll see a lot more Hulk. The Hulk gets Hulk-ier. The Hulk Hulks out. Hulk-ier and bigger.”

More Hulk? Hulk-ier Hulk? Hulk outs? Hulk-ier and bigger? Sounds good to me Mr Ruffalo! But the most exciting thing in this to me is the “intergalactic buddy road movie with Banner and Thor”. This I think is something we’ve all been craving since The Avengers when the pairs relationship gives some of the biggest laughs. Sure, Bruce Banner is undeniably Tony’s friend through and through but as is Dr Jekyl to Mr Hyde, Hulk is a different beast entirely and him and Thor have a wonderful relationship, one I can’t wait to explore.

But as you may all know the cast for Thor: Ragnarok has improved significantly recently with the likes of Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban and the undeniably talented Cate Blanchett who will tackle the villain, Hela. Ruffalo also teased her role saying;

“She plays the worst of the worst. So evil, she is going to kill us. It’s such a great part she gets to play.”

While Marvel have a controversial history with villains with them often regarded as the weakest part of the film the common exception to the rule is that Loki is by far the best and with comments like these and casting like Cate Blanchett, it looks like we’re on track for another classic.

Thor: Ragnarok hits screens on November 3rd 2017.
