Marvel fans who follow the work of the Russo brothers may have noticed a small easter egg slipped into each of their Captain America movies. Each movie contained a small cameo from an actor that had previously been on their NBC cult hit, Community. Captain America: Winter Soldier had Dani Pudi as a S.H.I.E.L.D. communications tech, and Civil War gave us Jim Rash as an MIT liaison.
According to the Russo brothers themselves, the cameo tradition will definitely continue on into Avengers: Infinity War. The Russos spoke with CinemaBlend, and when asked about the running joke Joe Russo responded:
” Yeah, absolutely. We’ve got to keep the streak going.”
It sounds like not only are they going to continue the streak, but he seems genuinely excited about it. Joe continued to elaborate on the phase that they’re in, in regards to picking out the perfect cameo for Avengers: Infinity War:
“We’re literally in that phase of the pre-production where we start thinking about those kinds of things, and right now we’re looking for the right part to see who’s a match for the next cameo.”
Who do you think will be the next cameo from Community in Avengers: Infinity War? Keep in mind Donald Glover has a role in Spider-Man: Homecoming already, so that leaves Joel McHale, Allison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Chevy Chase, and Yvette Nicole Brown.
I don’t think they could pay Chevy Chase enough money to do a Marvel movie, and Yvette Nicole Brown has taken a step back from the acting business. My money is on Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, or Allison Brie.
