Ryan Gosling Says He’d Play Batman With Damien Chazelle As Director

During a press junket interview with Variety, Ryan Gosling said he’d play Batman if First Man director Damien Chazelle directed it.

With the fate of the current “Worlds of DC” unknown, people are curious who could possibly be taking up the cape and cowl when and if Ben Affleck doesn’t return to the franchise. Enter Gosling.

Rumors have been circulating about actors like Armie Hammer, Jake Gyllenhaal and others dawning the bat mantle if current Batman Ben Affleck were to step down from the role, but what about Ryan Gosling? During a press junket for the Neil Armstrong biopic, First Man, Gosling was asked if he’d ever take up the role:

“Oh, you know… I don’t know. It would depend on — Damien, you want to do that one? Damien Chazelle Batman, that I want to see.”

While Chazelle only has a few directorial credits under his belt so far, La La Land and Whiplash being ones of note, it might not be a bad idea to give such a beloved franchise to a young up-and-comer like Chazelle.
