Ryan Reynolds Announces ‘Once Upon A Deadpool’ Blu Ray Release Date

Remember watching Deadpool 2 and thinking “Wow this is wildly inappropriate for my children or my parents!”? Well to solve that minor inconvenience for these types of audiences, FOX announced Once Upon A Deadpool back in September. This is a PG-13 adapted version where Wade Wilson tells the story of the film to Fred Savage, parodying 1987’s The Princess Bride. The movie released in cinemas as a “Christmas movie” December 14th and now Ryan Reynolds has announced the Blu Ray release on January 15th with a hilarious post on Instagram.

 

This version of Deadpool 2 acts a compromise with with younger fans, since Ryan Reynolds and Director David Leitch got away with their R-rated sequel to Deadpool. Since the tone of Wade Wilson’s first outing was such a success, the studios went along with the actor and the director’s idea for the second one. Nonetheless, this time around they made two cuts of the movie to gather a more impressionable audience to see Deadpool’s shenanigans. This may very well turn into a marketing scheme for other Deadpool movies. Although, with the incoming FOX and Disney merger who knows what will happen.

Once Upon A Deadpool will be available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD on January 15.
