Sally Field Hated Her Role In ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Series; Says It Wasn’t Her ‘Type Of Movie’

While The Amazing Spider-Man series had it’s share of errors, one of them definitely wasn’t their casting choices. Well…except how some of them were used. But that’s an entirely different subject for another time. Included in that cast was Sally Field who visited The Howard Stern Show this week and commented on her role in films. It seems that the Oscar-winning actress wasn’t exactly a fan of the series and had an interesting reason that she actually signed on for the role

Not especially my kind of movie. But my friend Laura Ziskin was the producer, and we knew it would be her last film. And she my first producing partner and she was spectacular.

The actress then went on to state that she didn’t put a “great deal of thought” into the role due to it being “really hard to find a three-dimensional character in it, and you work it as much as you can, but you can’t put ten pounds of shit in a five-pound bag.” Ouch. We’ve heard some harsh words from some of the cast before but that one might just be one of the more brutal comments.

Well, luckily for Field she won’t have to reprise the role in the upcoming reboot of the series as she has been replaced by Marisa Tomei who we are going  to meet in this summer’s Captain America: Civil War. Let us know what you think about Field’s comments in the section below.
