Samuel L. Jackson Reveals Original ‘Glass’ Ending Was Changed

M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass drops into theaters this weekend, closing out a trilogy he started 19 years ago with Unbreakable and continued on in 2016 with Split. All that time the filmmaker has been gestating on his superhero ending and now that it is finally upon us, star Samuel L Jackson (who plays the titular villain) has revealed that the ending to Glass had changed from its original conception.

Speaking with Digital Spy, Jackson said:

“There was a different ending when we first started this that kind of needed to be changed because of the way society is and what’s going on in the world and what it would have looked like…”

Samuel L Jackson did not specifically mention what it was exactly about the ending that had been changed and did not give away any spoilers. Nor did the actor let it be known whether or not the change had anything to do with his titular character.

With the film’s release just on the horizon, it is not that surprising that Samuel L Jackson chose to remain silent on any potential spoilers. I am sure we will find those finer details later into the Glass‘s release.

Are you planning on seeing this film once it releases this weekend? Let us know in the comments below! Here’s the synopsis for Glass:

From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast.

Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

Written and directed by M Night Shyamalan, Glass stars James McAvoy, Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson, Sarah Paulson, Anya Taylor-Joy, Spencer Treat Clark, and Charlayne Woodard.

Glass will be released in theaters on January 18, 2019.
