Scarlett Johansson Talks Black Widow-Hulk Relationship In ‘Avengers:…

While talking about the emotional necessity of acting, Scarlett Johansson spoke about the Black Widow-Hulk relationship in 'Avengers: Infinity War.'

In Avengers: Age of Ultron, fans were treated (or not, depending on your preference) to a blossoming Black Widow-Hulk romantic subplot. Things didn’t exactly end on a high note for the pair as Hulk/Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) flew away from mankind, not to be seen again until November’s Thor: Ragnarok. Of course, Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) was back at the spy game in Captain America: Civil War.

So what can we expect from the two by the time Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters? Will they be together or still trying to work things out? Johansson had some things to say about it during an interview with Bravo TV.

While speaking about the emotional necessity of acting, Johansson segued into talk about Infinity War and her character’s relationship with Ruffalo’s.

“I just finished Avengers: Infinity War. The first one. My character has this ongoing relationship with Mark Ruffalo’s character. I had such devastation that day. I don’t know why. I was so devastated. It was something about this character that Mark plays, and this is something that should feel so solid and suddenly doesn’t or there’s… And it reminded me of so much of the things going on in my own life at the time…”

It certainly doesn’t sound like Hulk and Black Widow are meant to end up in their own happily ever after based on Johansson’s tease, but we’ll find out for sure next year.

Avengers: Infinity War is being directed by Joe and Anthony Russo with a script from Captain America: Winter Soldier writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The film also stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautisa, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel as well as Pom Klementieff, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, , Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Infinity War is slated to hit theaters May 4, 2018, with Avengers 4  set for release one year later on May 3, 2019.
