The Woolsey Fire raging across California even at this moment has claimed a lot of homes, territory, and, most tragic of all, lives. Many that live in that territory out west have been forced to evacuate or relocate with the advancing fires showing no signs of stopping at the moment. And those either evacuating or who have had their homes destroyed have had to flee with little more than their lives or whatever they can grab. One such individual is Scott Derrickson, who you’ll know as the director of Doctor Strange.
In the wee hours of the morning today, Scott Derrickson took to Twitter to announce that, while fleeing from a fire, you, naturally, only have time to grab a few items. One of those items that Derrickson managed to grab was the original Eye of Agamotto, which he shared a photo of in the accompanying tweet. So it’s great that the item is safe, but also no doubt even greater that the Doctor Strange director also managed to escape with his life as well. Here, have a look at the tweet for yourself.
And while some will no doubt be wondering what impact this would have on a potential Doctor Strange sequel — even if just a select few — the important takeaway from this is not merely Scott Derrickson managing to save a Doctor Strange item, but that he got away with his life as well. In the grand scheme of things, these films are just films, but the lives of the people behind them far outweigh that. Still, though, what do you think of Derrickson managing to save the Eye of Agamotto of all things? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
