Sebastian Stan plays Bucky Barnes, aka Winter Soldier, aka White Wolf, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The beloved friend to Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), aka Captain America, unfortunately, was one of the many lives taken by Thanos (Josh Brolin) in the final moments of this year’s Avengers: Infinity War.
Stan was present during a panel at CCXP in Sao Paulo, Brazil and revealed some interesting information regarding what he knows about the upcoming Avengers: Endgame and even its predecessor Infinity War before it hit theaters. First off, Stan revealed that he had no knowledge of the official title for the fourth Avengers film because he apparently wasn’t involved with it. This is what the actor had to say about the subject, according to Comicbook.com.
“Yeah, because I didn’t have anything to do with it.”
When he was asked to clarify, this is what Stan had to say about his time shooting the Avengers films.
“We didn’t know, but also the last thing I filmed was in 2017, which was earlier in 2017, so that was a long time ago. So I haven’t been part of anything that’s been recently happening, but I’m excited to see it.”
The actor then recounted his unique experience of filming Infnity War but not truly knowing everything until he saw it in the theater.
“When I saw the last film, I hadn’t read the script, and I didn’t know what was going to happen, so I was actually watching it for the first time. So it’s nice now that I can be part of the audience and enjoy it that way.”
Bucky Barnes was one of the fan-favorite choices to pick up the mantle of Captain America once Chris Evans leaves the franchise, as was his Captain America: The Winter Soldier co-star Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson, aka Falcon. Both characters succumbed to the Infinity Gauntlet’s destruction but hopefully, both characters will be returning in Endgame.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Avengers: Endgame as soon as more information becomes available. Which character do you think could take on the mantle of Captain America after Evans? How do you think the fallen heroes in Infinity War will make their return in Endgame? Avengers: Endgame is scheduled to be released in theaters April 26th, 2019.
