See Sebastian Stan As Luke Skywalker From ‘The Mandalorian’ Finale

A new concept design inspired by The Mandalorian season two finale imagines Sebastian Stan as the next Luke Skywalker.

After the finale of The Mandalorian season two surprised audiences with a young version of Luke Skywalker, many wondered why Lucasfilm didn’t opt to cast someone in the role instead of using de-ageing technology. While some fans loved seeing the hero return to save Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin and his team from the Death Troopers, many were disappointed that the visual effects didn’t quite as brilliant as they could’ve done. And thanks to his resemblance to a young Mark Hamill, a concept design imagines Sebastian Stan as Luke Skywalker for The Mandalorian.

In addition to bringing Luke Skywalker into the Disney Plus series, The Mandalorian also revealed  that a spin-off show The Book of Boba Fett will debut on the streaming service in December 2021. It’s not clear if Luke will appear in future shows like the Boba Fett spin-off, but this design from Instagram user Ryan Smallman shows Sebastian Stan wielding the green lightsaber against the graffiti background to match the other character posters that have been released for The Mandalorian season two. The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito and Carl Weathers, with Rosario Dawson joining the series as Ahsoka Tano. The Star Wars project is being directed by series creator Jon Favreau, executive producer Dave Filoni and fellow season one directors Rick Famuyiwa and Bryce Dallas Howard. Ant-Man director Peyton Reed will also helm at least one episode as will star Carl Weathers and Sin City helmer Robert Rodriguez.
