Seth Grahame-Smith Departs ‘The Flash’

As the DC Extended Universe is in its early days of launching several new franchises, it looks like one of them just got back to square one. The Hollywood Reporter revealed today that Seth Grahame-Smith, who was set to direct the upcoming film version of The Flash, has departed the project.

Hollywood Reporter went on to reveal that Smith, who would have made his directorial debut with this film, departed the project due to “creative differences”. Smith has worked on films such as Dark Shadows, Abraham Lincoln: The Vampire Hunter as well as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

THR also gave details about what will happen with Smith’s screenplay, which was based on a treatment from The Lego Movie’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller, as the studio will still be using that script for The Flash film. Recently, Heroic Hollywood’s very own Umberto Gonzalez revealed what characters are actively being cast right now for the project which you can check out by clicking here.

Ezra Miller made his debut in the DC Extended Universe throughout Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which came out about a month ago and he is currently in London filming Justice League: Part 1 which is coming out November 2017, directed by Zack Snyder as the DC Universe’s titans are united together on the big screen. It has also recently been hinted that Ray Fisher, who portrays Victor Stone/Cyborg, is possibly showing up in The Flash film.

The Flash starring Ezra Miller is set to come out in theaters on March 16, 2018 as revealed back in February.
