Shameik Moore Wants To Play Live-Action Miles Morales Against Tom Hardy’s Venom

Ask anyone who Peter Parker is and they will likely tell you he is Spider-Man. That could all change this weekend after Sony’s animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swings into theaters. The film will introduce a new web-head named Miles Morales, an Afro-Latino teenager created by Brian Michael Bendis in 2011. With all eyes on Miles, speculation is sure to fly regarding any potential incorporation of the new Spider-Man into the world of live-action films.

23-year-old Dope actor Shameik Moore voices Miles in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but when asked during an interview with MTV, Moore made it known that he would love to cross over and play the character in live-action:

“Most definitely. I definitely want to be the live-action Miles Morales. I understand that he’s a young kid, but hopefully, you know, they can play with time and put me in there.”

The actor’s enthusiasm did not stop there:

“I would love to be fighting Venom as Miles, with Tom Hardy. You know what I mean? That would be great. I would love to play on screen with my favorite actor out right now.”

Despite the fact that Spider-Verse is animated and Venom is a live-action movie, Moore believes the two still co-exist in the same larger universe and points to Venom‘s post-credits stinger as evidence:

“At the end of the movie they show our clip, ‘Into the Spider-Verse,’ at the end of the Venom. I think that’s a seed. It just has to be.”
