‘Shazam!’ Producer Confirms Seven Deadly Sins; Compares Them To ‘Aquaman’s The Trench

Shazam! producer Peter Safran confirmed that the Seven Deadly Sins will appear in the upcoming DC film and compared them to The Trench in Aquaman.

While Dr. Sivana will serve as the main antagonist in Shazam!, he will be accompanied by some other villains as well. It has been rumored the Seven Deadly Sins will appear in the upcoming film and were even teased in a recent TV spot. In an interview with Collider, the Shazam! confirmed the Seven Deadly Sins will appear in the film and likened their appearance to The Trench in Aquaman:

“The Sins are gonna’ be in some way involved in the story. So without revealing exactly how they’re integrated into the storyline, I would say that’s probably as close to what James [Wan] did with The Trench. We really let David flex [by building] those kinds of sequences that are scary and cool.”

Directed by David F. Sandberg, the upcoming film stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Ron Cephas.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.

Aquaman is now playing in theaters.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. and DC are on a high after Aquaman‘s billion dollar gross. The studio is reportedly developing an Aquaman sequel and spin-off film centered on The Trench.  Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest Aquaman and DC films news!
