‘Shazam!’ Director Excited For ‘Captain Marvel’ To Silence The Trolls

David F. Sandberg is looking forward to everyone seeing his flick Shazam! when it does a superhero landing straight into theaters later this April. The director is also looking forward to another superhero film dropping, Captain Marvel, and hopes that it will once and for all silence those who have been trolling the Marvel movie online prior to its release.

The director of Shazam! has never been too shy about sharing his opinions via the interwebs and let it be known earlier today through his Twitter that he cannot wait for Captain Marvel to make all the money and in doing so shutting up the film’s trolls:

“I for one look forward to Captain Marvel making all the money in the world to shut some of these people up.”

You can see the Shazam! director’s exact Tweets for yourself below:

David F. Sandberg’s Tweet was in response to a THR article that addressed the controversies surrounding Captain Marvel and the troll community that has gathered to collectively poo-poo the project.

Yes, if you have not been in the know, Captain Marvel has been the focus of a lot of trolling over the last couple of weeks online. Among other things, angry keyboard warriors who took personal offense to Brie Larson’s earlier comments about diversifying the press junkets for Captain Marvel have been organizing mass downvotes on the percentage under the film’s “Want to see” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Despite these hilarious efforts, Brie Larson and Captain Marvel are still on track to kick box office butt on its opening weekend.

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.

Captain Marvel will be released in theaters on March 8, 2019.
