‘Shazam!’ Director Shares Behind-The-Scenes Look At New Zachary Levi Image

On the heels of a new Shazam! image released today, director David F. Sandberg took to social media to share his own, behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming DC film.

Taking to his Instagram today, David F. Sandberg showcased an image of Zachary Levi’s Shazam at the same theme park shown in both the San Diego Comic-Con trailer and the image revealed earlier today. Sandberg even made sure to tag Empire Magazine when sharing the new Shazam! image, which you yourself can see in the post below.

Naturally, fans are still waiting on pins and needles as to when a new trailer for the Shazam! film will be released, but there’s definitely no shortage of new images to share around, as David F. Sandberg’s post indicates. Between this and the earlier Zachary Levi image, it looks like there could indeed be a lot of action that takes place at the theme park seen in the trailer. But what would you hope or want to see in a potential new Shazam! trailer? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Below is the film’s synopsis:

“We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).”

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Asher Angel, Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.

The film will hit theaters on April 5, 2019.
