‘Shazam!’ Director David F. Sandberg Trolls Fans Again Over Next Trailer

A fan demanded a new trailer for Shazam! from director David F. Sandberg but didn’t quite get that.

Fans have been anticipating a new trailer for the Shazam! movie. It’s been a few months since the release of the first trailer and with only a few months away from the film’s release, audiences are dying to know more about it. One fan in particular wanted the trailer so much he tweeted at the director David F. Sandberg, demanding the release of the next trailer. Sandberg gave the fan what he asked for, but it’s not exactly what he wanted.

If you followed the link Sandberg posted, you can see a trailer painted in all red with the Shazam! lightning bolt on it. You can’t say Sandberg didn’t deliver on bringing that fan the trailer. But now that audiences have seen that trailer, a new one featuring new footage is the only logical next step.

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.
