Shazam! Star Asher Angel Has No Doubt He’ll Lay The Smackdown On Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam In Sequel

We recently sat down and had a chat with Shazam! star Asher Angel and he seemed pretty sure that he and Zachary Levi would lay the smack down on Dwayne Johnson and Black Adam when the two characters finally battle.

Shazam! has finally arrived and he’s foiled his evil foe, Doctor Sivana. Now that Sivana is done it’s time to start thinking about the future and that future is none other than Dwayne Johnson and Black Adam. The two God powered characters will more than likely collide in a future sequel to Shazam!

With Dwayne Johnson’s massive physical size, Zachary Levi might have a true competitor on his hand with Black Adam. Black Adam will have a solo film long before he meets Shazam on the big screen, but when that day comes it seems Asher Angel, who plays the Billy Batson half of the hero, has an idea of who will become the victor:

“Oh, come on Black Adam. Nah, I’m just kidding. I mean they’re both the same. They’re literally like doppelgängers. But, good beats evil every time so that’s the only reason I’d say Shazam. I guess we’ll have to see.”

What do you think Dwayne Johnson will think of Asher Angel’s comments? Do you think Shazam! can take down Dwayne Johnson and Black Adam? Sound off in the comments section below.

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Ron Cephas Jones. Here is the plot synopsis for Shazam!:

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Shazam is now playing in theaters!
