Shazam! was a big hit. The film was loved by fans and praised by critics for its lighter tone and likable characters. In the wake of 2017’s Justice League, which flopped with both fans and critics, moviegoers were hoping that Shazam! would help set a new, more upbeat tone for the DC Extended Universe going forward.
However, with the DCEU now focusing on more characters than just Batman and Superman, many fans were left wondering which heroes will be pushed to the forefront. Following the success of Aquaman and Wonder Woman, many were curious if Shazam would become a big part of the DCEU going forward and it seems the Zachary Levi character is going to do just that.
Shazam! was a hit and established a brand new character into an already jam-packed world with great success. However, Zachary Levi’s Shazam wasn’t the only hero introduced to the DCEU. In the movie, Billy Batson’s five foster siblings also get powers and form the Shazam family.
Recently, the stunt doubles for the Shazam family came together to take a photo, showing off our best look yet at the their supersuits. You can check out the photo below!
With Henry Gayden writing a sequel to the Shazam! movie, many fans are clamoring for as many details as possible for these up-and-coming characters. Do you want to see the Shazam family again? Here’s the official synopsis for Shazam!:
“We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).”
Zachary Levi’s Shazam! is now playing in theaters.
