‘Shazam!’ Reportedly Features A Cameo From Henry Cavill’s Superman With A Twist

We Got This Covered reports Shazam! will include a Superman cameo, but Henry Cavill won’t be the one playing the Man of Steel for the brief appearance.

Last year, it was reported Henry Cavill was set to reprise his role as Superman for a cameo appearance in Warner Bros. and DC’ Shazam! movie. Since then, reports claiming Henry Cavill’s manager and Warner Bros. were in the midst of heated contract negotiations prompted the studio to officially state that no decision regarding plans for future Superman movies has been made, leaving many fans to wonder if Cavill’s time as the Man of Steel was coming to an end. However, WGTC sources claim the creative team behind Shazam! have found a way to include Superman in spite of the alleged uncertainty about Henry Cavill’s future as the character.

According to WGTC, the final scene features Billy Batson showing up at school as his adult superhero alter-ego as part of a payoff to the frequent requests of his foster brother Freddie Freeman, who hoped to prove to his classmate that he knows Shazam. In a surprise move, Shazam announces he brought another friend with him and introduces Superman to the class, but the film allegedly uses a body double and the Man of Steel’s face is not shown.

How do you feel about how the film will include Superman if this turns out to be true? Are you more concerned about Henry Cavill’s future as the Man of Tomorrow? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Ron Cephas.

Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.
