The latest trailer for Shazam! featured new footage of the titular hero fighting the villainous Dr. Sivana and their showdown eventually brings them to a toy store. In a hilarious effort to slow down the approaching villain, Shazam grabs a large Batman figure from the shelf and tosses it at Dr. Sivana. Just as the DC hero grabs the figure, the toy utters the famous phrase Michael Keaton’s Caped Crusader said in Tim Burton’s 1989 film: “I’m Batman.”
Of course, few fans need to be reminded that Michael Keaton portrayed the Dark Knight twice, with his second turn at the role being in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns. Today, some fans continue to push for Michael Keaton to play an older Bruce Wayne should Warner Bros. ever make a live-action Batman Beyond film.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Ron Cephas.
Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.
