The image, courtesy of Empire, shows Zachary Levi’s Shazam standing amidst some rubble in the same theme park seen in the San Diego Comic-Con trailer shown last year. While there’s no indication if this is where the climax of the film will take place, it does look like there will be a lot of destruction for the park. Here, have a look at the new Shazam! image below.
Then again, we’ve seen in the recent sneak peek that there will be a lot of battling going on in the city, in the same vein as Man of Steel, so perhaps the carnival here may just be one of several battles that Zachary Levi’s Billy Batson has with Doctor Sivana. Him or any other potential threats that pop up in the upcoming DC film. That said, what do you think of the new Shazam! image? When do you believe we may get a new trailer for David F. Sandberg’s upcoming movie? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. In the meantime, here’s the film’s synopsis:
“We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).”
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Asher Angel, Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.
The film will hit theaters on April 5, 2019.
