While fans are still waiting on a release date for the She-Hulk Disney Plus series, new casting details from the show suggest that Hulk star Mark Ruffalo will be returning to play a key part in She-Hulk‘s origin story. Interestingly, the casting details also reveal that the She-Hulk Disney Plus series is looking for actresses who have played comedic roles before and are in their 20s or 30s. The studio is also reportedly open to actresses from different ethnicities for the role.

It would make sense to include Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk in the series given that the Disney Plus shows are meant to be tied closer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If the description is accurate then fans might see the return of Hulk star Mark Ruffalo on the small screen before he reappears in the movies. In the comics, She-Hulk is the alter-ego of Jennifer Walters, a private attorney and the cousin of Bruce Banner. After being shot, Jennifer Walters receives a blood transfusion from Bruce that transforms her into the gamma-powered She-Hulk. However, unlike most incarnations of Bruce Banner’s Hulk, Jennifer Walters retains her sharp wit and emotional control in her She-Hulk form, which later becomes permanent.
Marvel Studios’ upcoming slate of films includes Black Widow, The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Thor: Love and Thunder.
