Find out what Sigourney Weaver had to say about the story of the Avatar sequels, as well as her role in Marvel's The Defenders.
While it still holds the title of highest-grossing movie of all-time, Avatar has been criticized for many things, including its story, which shares quite a few similarities with Pocahontas, Dancing with Wolves and several other classics.
In a recent interview with Variety, Sigourney Weaver spoke a little bit about the sequels, which she described as “more amazing” than the 2009 movie due to their scope:
“In my opinion, the three scripts I’ve read so far are many times more amazing than the first one in terms of their scope. He did a lot of the heavy lifting in the first movie, establishing the family and the relationships and the world, and now he really gets to play.”
The actress was also asked about her role in Marvel’s Defenders, but she couldn’t reveal much about her character besides the following:
“I can’t say much, because they might kill me. I think everyone I work for might kill me if I tell you anything. But I have the most delicious character. She’s really smart, and she’s very in charge.”
