Adam McKay Says There ‘Has Been Some Discussion’ About A Silver Surfer Film

During a red carpet interview with MTV News at the Golden Globe Awards, Vice director Adam McKay discussed the possibility of helming a Silver Surfer film.

Late last year, Adam McKay expressed his interest in helming a Silver Surfer film and Marvel Studios president Kevin seemed more than open to the idea when asked about the Vice director’s comments. When asked if there has been any movement on a Silver Surfer project since his comments, Adam McKay noted that there actually have been some discussion about the topic:

“There actually has been some discussion about Silver Sufer. My agent certainly woke up. They were excited. We’re in the middle of, you know, backing Vice right now, but, who knows, in a couple months it could pop up. I really am excited by that idea. So, we’ll see what happens.”

The deal that will bring the Fox-owned Marvel characters, including the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, to the MCU is expected to close at the end of January.

A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.

Avengers: Endgame is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
