‘Sleight’ Director Volunteers To Direct Ray Fisher’s Cyborg Movie

The director behind the low-budget superhero film Sleight volunteers to direct Ray Fisher’s Cyborg movie in the DC Extended Universe.

Sleight director JD Dillard has thrown his name in the ring to direct a solo movie for Ray Fisher’s Cyborg  following a fan’s suggestion. Fisher was set to headline his own adventure originally slated for release in April 2020, but nothing ever came to fruition. Most recently, Fisher has been a vocal supporter of the Snyder Cut, with the actor taking a shot at Joss Whedon for his alleged abusive behavior on the Justice League set.

When a fan on Twitter suggested Sleight director JD Dillard as a perfect candidate to direct a Cyborg movie starring Ray Fisher, he brilliantly responded by using the “I volunteer” gif of Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games. Earlier this year, it was announced the director is working on a Star Wars movie with Disney and Lucasfilm. For fans unfamiliar with Sleight, it follows a young street magician who uses technology in his arm to wow audiences, but ultimately turns to crime after the death of his mother. It’s often described as Chronicle meets Iron Man, which seemingly makes him an ideal candidate to direct a Cyborg movie starring Fisher.
