Those who are attending SXSW in Austin will get to see a theatrical release of this featurette, but the rest of us will have to wait until Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits Blu-Ray. The featurette contains screen tests, audition tapes, interviews, and tons of behind-the-scenes footage. Those who purchase The Force Awakens and watch the featurette will even get to see Captain Phasma without a helmet, something the film itself never quite delivered. We even learn where director J.J. Abrams came up with Phasma’s name, and it’s not how you might have expected.
For two minutes of footage from Secrets of The Force Awakens, just check out the trailer below.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on April 5, 2016. In addition to Secrets of The Force Awakens, it will contain such featurettes as Building BB-8, The Story Awakens: The Table Read, and Blueprint of a Battle: The Snow Fight. Along with a few other features (including deleted scenes), it will total more than twenty minutes of bonus content.
