Possible ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Poster Reveals The Character’s Live-Action Look

The Sonic the Hedgehog fandom is often divided at times. Green eyes versus black eyes, boost gameplay versus Adventure-style, classic versus modern, Jaleel White versus any of the voice actors between Ryan Drummond and Roger Craig Smith, the list goes on and on. But one aspect where the entirety of the Sonic fanbase seems united revolves around the possible design for the blue blur in the upcoming live-action Sonic the Hedgehog film.

The recently released motion poster for Paramount’s upcoming Sonic film has managed to do the unthinkable: unite the fanbase, but not in support. Just flat out opposition to the proposed design for the fastest thing alive. And now there’s something new on the horizon as well: an internal poster showcasing the live-action look for Sonic the Hedgehog from well over a year ago.

Here, have a look at the early design of Sonic in the poster below.

The reaction to this online seems to have gone over ever so slightly better than the motion poster, with some fans liking the look a bit more than the first reveal, though many still have their fair share of issues with the eyes and blue arms for Sonic as opposed to the tan arms that are prominent in the games. But then, the Sonic fandom wouldn’t be what it is if there weren’t many critiques down the smallest detail about how the blue blur looks. Just imagine the debates that could be had if Tails and Knuckles show up as well.

But what do you think of this poster? Do you think it’s a marked improvement over the silhouette shown in the motion poster? Let us know in the comments below.

Directed by Jeff Fowler, Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog stars Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Jim Carrey, Lee Majdoub, Frank C. Turner, Adam Pally, Natasha Rothwell, Neal McDonough, Debs Howard, and Elfina Luk. The film will speed its way into theaters on November 8, 2019.
