Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters launched in October with the financially successful Venom and now the studio has scheduled two new projects for 2020. Details on the projects are currently unknown, though the film slated for July 7 will be a new Marvel-based feature while the October 2 film will be a sequel.
Sony is currently developing a Kraven the Hunter film while Jared Leto is set to star in a movie centered on Morbius The Living Vampire.
The Morbius film will be directed Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the project with Lucas Foster. Palak Patel will oversee for Sony.
Venom follows Eddie Brock as he attempts to revive his journalism career by investigating the Life Foundation only to come into with an alien symbiote that bonds with him, granting him powers and transforming him into the titular anti-hero.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson.
