For years, fans have been joking about a possible sequel to the hit live-action/animation hybrid film starring NBA star Michael Jordan alongside the beloved characters of the Looney Tunes, Space Jam, and now it’s finally happening. The upcoming sequel Space Jam 2, will be produced by both Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and LeBron James, who will also serve as the film’s lead character.
After years of anticipation, Space Jam 2 has finally earned a release date of July 16th, 2021. The exciting announcement came earlier this evening from The Hollywood Reporter’s Aaron Couch via Twitter. Check out the full report in the post below.
There’s still no news yet on what the story of the highly-anticipated sequel will be but with a release date that’s only a couple of years away, hopefully, that means fans will be hearing more updates on the film sooner than later. It was recently revealed that another Warner Bros. sequel, Godzilla vs Kong, has shifted its previous release date to avoid competition with Fast & Furious 9.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding LeBron James’ Space Jam 2 as soon as more information becomes available. Are you excited for a Space Jam sequel or do you think it’s been too long since the original? Are you happy that LeBron James will be the main character instead of Michael Jordan?
