New ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Image Reveals Detailed Look At Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio

Marvel fans can get their best look yet at Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) from Spider-Man: Far From Home thanks to a new piece of promo art.

Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters this July, marking the end of Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker first debuted in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War before headlining his own solo movie in 2017, Spider-Man: Homecoming. Tom Holland’s wall-crawling hero last appeared in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, in which he fell victim to Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) snap. When Spidey returns this year, he’ll be facing a new foe, Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio.

Mysterio’s most iconic attribute from the comics and cartoons is his giant helmet. Jake Gyllenhaal will be portraying the nefarious illusionist in Spider-Man: Far From Home and thanks to a new piece of promo art, fans can get an incredible new look at the Mysterio costume that Jake Gyllenhaal will be donning in the film. Check out the awesome artwork in the Instagram post below.

Jake Gyllenhaal’s portrayal of Mysterio will be the first time that the villain has been brought to the big screen. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker clashed with the Vulture. The villain was played by Batman actor Michael Keaton and also marked the first time that particular villain had been featured on the big screen. Jake Gyllenhaal was rumored to play the role of Spider-Man years ago but that never came to fruition.

The actor has also been a fan favorite choice to take over the role of Batman in the DC Extended Universe. Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio has been featured in the trailers for Spider-Man: Far From Home but his true place in the story has yet to be fully revealed just yet.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home as soon as more information becomes available. Are you looking forward to Jake Gyllenhaal playing Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
