It’s a good year to be a Spider-Man fan because there have been three major Spider-Man related films released this year and they all cover different parts of the character’s history and tone. Venom didn’t feature the web-slinger but it did focus on his most iconic victim and this week’s Spdier-Man: Into the Spider-Verse delivers Spider-Men in all shapes and sizes. One of the more devastating appearances of the character though was Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in Avengers: Infinity War.
The iconic Marvel hero was one of the victims of the Decimation in Avengers: Infinity War and while some fans were broken up by the sad exit, there were many who also felt the moment was a bit deflated due to the announcement of next year’s Spider-Man: Far From Home. A new report from Vanity Fair reveals that Marvel wanted to keep Spider-Man’s return a secret, but Sony’s desire to announce and release Far From Home in 2019 caused problems with those plans.
Although Avengers: Endgame is expected to bring many dead characters back, in one way or another, it doesn’t mean that there won’t be other deaths along the way. One thing that’s for sure though is that there will be no shortage of Spidey films in the future. Not only will Tom Holland continue to lead his own trilogy, but sequels and spin-offs to both Into the Spider-Verse and Venom have also already been announced.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Spider-Man Far From Home and Avengers: Endgame as soon as more information becomes available. Which upcoming Spider-Man related movie are you most excited about? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
