‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Trailer Easter Eggs May Confirm Key Marvel Villains

The first official trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home revealed three monstrous villains whom many believe to be the Elementals, a group of extradimensional humanoids who ruled a kingdom on Earth before the rise of the original Atlantis and became immortals with the power over natural forces. However, cleverly hidden easter eggs in the trailer suggest the villains may actually be new versions of classic Spider-Man foes from Marvel Comics.

During the scene in which Nick Fury and Maria Hill open fire on a giant sand-like creature, a vehicle with a license plate reading “463” can be seen in the shot. The number is likely a reference to the fact that Sandman first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #4  in 1963. Similarly, a vehicle with a license place reading “2865 SEP” can be seen during the fiery creature’s appearance, a likely nod to Molten Man’s debut in 1965’s The Amazing Spider-Man #28, while the boat that can be seen during the water creature scene with “ASM 212” written on the side seems to be a nod to Hydro-Man’s first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #212.

While most fans believe the creatures to be Elementals named Hydron (lord of the waters), Magnum (master of the earth), and Hellfire (wielder of flame), the easter eggs referencing classic comic books have prompted speculation that these creatures will be new versions of Sandman, Molton Man, and Hydro-Man. However, it is possible that the creatures are members of a different team known as the Elementals of Doom, the living monstrous embodiment of air, water, fire, and earth who are led by Diablo. In fact, some believe that these creatures are likely illusions of some sort created by Mysterio in order to present himself a hero to the public.
