Spider-Man: Homecoming apparently had a few scenes of characters kissing, but none of them made the theatrical cut of the movie.
Kissing scenes have always been a part of the Spider-Man movies, but Spider-Man: Homecoming is looking to buck the trend – even though it was originally planned to follow suit.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, actress Laura Harrier (who plays Liz Allan) reveals that she and Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) filmed several scenes where they kissed, but none of them made it into the movie:
“We did a lot of different kissing scenes and none of them are in the movie now. I don’t know. It’s an interesting choice. We didn’t know what they were going to choose, because we had all these different options of Spider-Man kisses and then there’s none.”
Some shots of Liz moving in to kiss Peter remained in some of the film’s advertisements, but these didn’t make the cut based on Harrier’s comments. Given that Peter will still be in high school, perhaps his first kiss might be better off being saved for the upcoming sequel.
Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
