‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’: Laura Harrier Wants Liz Allan To Become Firestar

Spider-Man: Homecoming has a diverse array of young actors and actresses that surround Peter Parker (Tom Holland) as he struggles with the balancing act of being a superhero and the pressures of high school. One of Peter’s classmates is Liz Allan (Laura Harrier), who serves as his main love interest in the film.

For those who are fans of the Ultimate Marvel Spider-Man comics, they may already be aware that Liz is eventually revealed to be the mutant known as Firestar. Liz’s powers manifested in front of her friends during a pool party.

While speaking to Screen Rant, Harrier expressed interest in seeing Liz become Firestar in a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. 

“I hope Liz get’s powers, because that’s what happens in the comics. She becomes like Firestar, and she can like light things on fire.”

As cool as that may be, Marvel Studios and Sony are going to have to remove the mutant aspect of Firestar if they plan on bringing her to life due to 20th Century Fox’s ownership of the mutants in the X-Men. This can be similar to how the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s versions of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) are not mutants whereas Fox’s version of Quicksilver (Evan Peters) remains a mutant and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) is his father.

Either way, it would be interesting to see Harrier portray Firestar in any way. Would you like to see Liz Allan discover her powers as Firestar?
