‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’: Tom Holland Is ‘Very Up For’ Mentoring Miles…

'Spider-Man: Homecoming': Tom Holland Is 'Very Up For' Mentoring Miles Morales. Spider-Man: Homecoming will be in theaters July 7.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hasn’t hit theaters yet, but the cast, director, and producers were all at a press junket in New York this weekend. Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland, was asked if he would be down to mentor Miles Morales the way Tony Stark has mentored him.

Holland was all for that idea, calling Morales, the other Spider-Man in the comics that has yet to make it to the big screen, a “great character.”

“That would be something that I would be very up for doing, it’s something that I would really, really hope to happen. I think Miles Morales is a great character, I think it would be fantastic to have an actor of color playing a superhero on screen and I just think it’s going to be something very cool and something very exciting for this universe.”

It would most certainly be great to see Peter Parker and Miles Morales interact in any capacity. Given that there will be two more Spider-Man movies following Homecoming, there’s still plenty of time to introduce the character on the big screen. Or, even better, Morales could even get his own solo movie.

Directed by Jon Watts, the film stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tony Revolori, Kenneth Choi, Hannibal Buress, Abraham Attah, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.

A young Peter Parker (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released in theaters on July 7, 2017.
