‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Trailer Easter Egg Confirmed

The latest trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming was released today and excited fans have already begun dissecting the latest preview for clues and Easter eggs. Eagle-eyed Twitter user mjsamps spotted one Easter egg that was later confirmed by director Jon Watts to be a nod to the first comic book appearance of the film’s antagonist, The Vulture.

The Easter egg appears during the ferry sequence where a licence plate reading SM2-0563 appears on one of the vehicles featured in the background. Fans may recognize those numbers as a reference to The Vultures first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #2, which was published on May, 1963.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released in theaters on July 7, 2017.
