Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse star John Mulaney revealed his Spider-Ham spin-off film pitch in a recent interview.
With the positive reception of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Sony has already put a sequel and an all-female spin-off in development. Spider-Verse introduces a plethora of characters in its 117 minute runtime, including Spider-Man Noir, Peni Parker, and Spider-Ham. Mulaney, who voices Spider-Ham in the film, shared his interesting spin-off pitch for the character in a recent interview with Variety:
“[Spider-Ham] is a fun guy who is capable of great rage. To go see him back at the Daily Bugle — I could see a Watergate-like story at the Bugle where he’s both a reporter and Spider-Ham by night. Never thought that the Clark Kents and the Peter Parkers leaned enough into the day job. This would be more like ‘The Post’ or ‘All The President’s Men’ or ‘Spotlight,’ but we’d make it family friendly. Lots of bacon jokes, or, ‘that’s hamfisted.’”
