Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe, there was Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. In 2002, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, starring Tobey Maguire in the titular role, took the world by storm. The iconic trilogy of films, all of which were directed by Sam Raimi, made a huge cultural impact when they were released. The final chapter in the trilogy premiered in 2007 and despite being a huge money-maker for Sony, it has since become infamous for its hectic plot threads and questionable portrayal of the villain Venom, played in the fim by That 70s Show star Topher Grace.
A new piece of fan art posted by spdrmnkyxxiii on Instagram takes the Spidey suit once worn by Tobey Maguire and mashes it with the upcoming suit that will be featured in this year’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, starring Tom Holland, who fans saw meet a very emotional demise in last year’s Avengers: Infinity War. Fans will be able to discover how Tom Holland’s friendly neighborhood hero will make his return to the world of the living in this year’s Avengers: Endgame but until then, fans can check out the impressive fan art in the post below!
Longtime fans of the Sam Raimi trilogy might remember that at one point, it was rumored that the Vulture would appear in the fourth film of the franchise. Obviously, that never came to fruition but Michael Keaton did bring the character to life in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. If this fan art gets you hyped, remember that the Sam Raimi suit is also available to play in the PS4 Spider-Man game released last year!
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and his many upcoming adventures as soon as more information becomes available. Do you prefer Holland’s Peter Parker or Maguire’s? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
