‘Spider-Man’ Franchise Producer Amy Pascal Offers ‘Sinister Six’ Update

During an interview with Vanity Fair, Spider-Man film franchise producer Amy Pascal offered an update on the previously planned Sinister Six film.

Before the landmark deal between Marvel Studios and Sony that brought Spider-Man into the MCU, the latter studio was developing a Sinister Six film with Drew Goddard attached to write and direct. While the project seemed to have been shelved since then, Amy Pascal noted that she is waiting to move forward with the villain team-up film when Goddard is ready:

“I’m just waiting for Drew to be ready to direct it. I would do anything with Drew Goddard. I’m just waiting for him to tell me he wants to.”

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind “The Lego Movie” and “21 Jump Street,” bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind. “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.

Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, & Rodney Rothman from a script written by Phil Lord, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse features the voice talents of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Liev Schreiber, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, and Lily Tomlin.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be released in theaters on December 14, 2018.
