‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ Features A ‘Spider-Man PS4’ Easter Egg

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse doesn’t hit theaters until this holiday season but fans are already spotting easter eggs in the film, including a nod to the latest incarnation of the web-crawler from the hit PlayStation 4 video game Marvel’s Spider-Man.

Insomniacs depiction of the web-crawler has already made the jump to comics in Spider-Geddon but has also now crossed over into animation. In the latest trailer for Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, a film which centers on a young Miles Morales as he learns to become Spider-Man under the guidance of an older Peter Parker, the already iconic redesign of the Spidey suit featuring the large white spider chest symbol can be seen in the background of a shot from the film. The game’s creative director Bill Rosemann took to Twitter to reveal the easter egg. You can check it out below.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has been directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman from a script written by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The film has been produced by Marvel Animation, Sony Pictures Animation, and Columbia Pictures with Lord and Miller also executive producing the project along with Avi Arad and Amy Pascal. Christina Steinberg served as producer as well.

The film features the voice talents of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Liev Schreiber, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, and Lily Tomlin.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swings into theaters December 14, 2018.
