‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ Spinoff Will Feature Silk & Spider-Woman

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is now in theaters and is racking up a plethora of positive reactions from both critics and fans of the beloved Marvel comics character. The film currently holds a 97% approval rating from critics on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes from over 220 critics. In the film, one of the biggest elements of the plot is the focus on the various different Spider characters including Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy or Spider-Gwen.

Before the film was even released, it was announced that an all-female spinoff would go into development soon, with Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy set to return. Now we have word from producer Amy Pascal that this upcoming picture written by Bek Smith will also feature the popular characters Cindy Moon aka Silk and Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman.

In terms of when exactly fans of these beloved Marvel comic book characters will be seen on the big screen again is yet to be determined, but it should come sooner rather than later, especially now with the incredible commercial and critical success that its original film, Into the Spider-Verse, is receiving.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is now in theatres, released by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman with a script from Phil Lord and Rothman, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Brian Tyree Henry, Lily Tomlin, Luna Lauren Velez, John Mulaney, Nicolas Cage, and Liev Schreiber.
