During his appearance on the show, which is currently taping in Captain America’s hometown of Brooklyn, New York, Jimmy Kimmel asked Holland about when the film takes place within the MCU timeline. In a rush, Holland responded with the following before leaving:
“I think Thanos is stealing a bank now. He’s poor now. Goodbye.”

In case you somehow live under a rock (or perhaps turned into dust yourself), Spider-Man was one of the unfortunate souls that fell victim to Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his *snap* at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. Given that Far From Home will be released two months after Avengers 4, it would be easy to assume that it would take place sometime after that film but Marvel Studios certainly wants to keep everything until then a secret.
How do you think the events from Infinity War and Avengers 4 play into the timeline when Far From Home is factored in? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news in the MCU.
Details on the plot are currently under wraps, though the film will follow Peter Parker as he joins his friends on a summer vacation in Europe and reportedly stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. Introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man #13, the most well-known incarnation of Mysterio is a special effects wizard named Quentin Beck and the character has been a frequent foe for the web-head since his debut.
Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, Numan Acar, J.B. Smoove, Oli Hill, Remy Hii, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
