Based on the ending of Infinity War and the trailer for Avengers: Endgame, we see Tony drifting about in space as he’s low on resources. Plus, he’s no doubt still got a nasty wound from when Thanos stabbed him. So what’s an Iron Man to do? We saw Tony leave a message for Pepper Potts in the trailer, but there’s no telling how, if at all, Tony will return to Earth. So one Reddit postulated the theory that Stan Lee will save Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame. They don’t state how, though, just that Lee’s cameo would be utilized to save Iron Man’s life.
Again, the user doesn’t expand on the theory, but let’s toy around with this for a moment. Consider the fact that, among his many cameos, Stan Lee was alongside the Watchers in the end credits of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, though not actually a Watcher himself. Given that the Watchers keep a watchful eye over the Multiverse, perhaps Lee could convince the Watchers to lend Tony a hand or any help that would lead to his rescue in Avengers: Endgame. It’s speculation, sure, and there have been other theories thrown around. However, given Lee’s first cameo way back in Iron Man when Tony mistook him for Hugh Hefner, this could bring things full circle.
What do you think of this theory, though? Do you believe that Stan Lee’s cameo could be utilized as a way to save Iron Man’s life in Avengers: Endgame? Let us know in the comments below. Here’s the synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:
“Adrift in space with no food or water, Tony Stark sends a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen supply starts to dwindle. Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers — Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Bruce Banner — must figure out a way to bring back their vanquished allies for an epic showdown with Thanos — the evil demigod who decimated the planet and the universe.”
Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26, 2019.
