At Star Wars Celebration 2017, new archival footage from 'Star Wars: Episode IV - An New Hope' shows an f-bomb moment and a longer Leia-Tarkin scene.
In the first bit of footage, Angus MacInnes, who played Gold Leader, flubs one of his lines and drops a “Fuck, I’m sorry” before getting back to it. In the video, you can also hear the audience’s reaction to the f-bomb.
In the second piece of footage, Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) have a longer exchange after he gives the order for the Death Star to destroy Alderaan than appeared in the final version of the film. In it, Leia quips, “And you call yourselves human” before Tarkin accuses her of being “Far too trusting.”
You can watch the two pieces of footage below.
The Last Jedi will pick up directly where The Force Awakens left off and will dig deeper into the new characters introduced in Episode VII as it explores Kylo Ren’s humanity as well as how Rey deals with the discovery of the force within. FN-2187 himself, John Boyega, has said that director Rian Johnson has managed to craft a Star Wars film that has an “indie movie” feel.
Written and directed by Rian Johnson, The Last Jedi stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis. Newly introduced to the saga are newcomers Laura Dern, Kelly Marie Tran, and Benicio del Toro.
The Last Jedi is set to hit theaters December 15, 2017.
