Last week, it was announced a Cassian Andor live-action series was in development at Lucasfilm for Disney+. The series is set to follow Cassian before the events of Rogue One described as a, “rousing spy thriller.” Luna sat down with Collider while promoting Narcos: Mexico and revealed when he found out about the new series:
“Very recently, that’s why I know very little. Very recently. I’m thrilled, I’m happy; it’s a dream come true to go back to that universe. I grew up watching those films and now I’m sharing that with my kids, so I’m very happy.”
Production for the series is expected to start next year and Luna doesn’t seem to know much more than that:
“That I don’t know. I know as much as you know. That thing they sent to the press? I got that the day before.”
Here’s the official synopsis for the first Star Wars live-action series, The Mandalorian:
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The Mandalorian will debut exclusively on Disney+, which is expected to launch by the end of 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Star Wars franchise as we learn it.
