The news comes courtesy of Brian Herring’s personal Twitter account. The Star Wars: Episode IX puppeteer tweeted out yesterday that the little droid that could’s journey had officially come to an end after five long years:

It is a touching farewell and while we cannot possibly know at this junction the little droid’s fate the finale of Star Wars: Episode IX, we will go ahead and say that we hope it gets the rest it deserves after saving the galaxy.
