C-3PO Actor Anthony Daniels Wraps Filming On ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’

Episode IX is the highly-anticipated wrap-up on the current Star Wars trilogy. With its theatrical release a little under a year away, the film is becoming more of a reality as certain actors are finishing their shooting, including C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels.

Via his personal Twitter account, C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels bid the cast and crew of Star Wars Episode IX a touching farewell and confirmed he has wrapped filming on his scenes for the highly-anticipated cap to the new trilogy that started with The Force Awakens and continued two years ago with the controversial The Last Jedi.

The actor had this to say:

“Today was 3PO’s last on Episode IX. He’s sad – so am I. But we’re so proud to have worked with such a lovely, talented cast & crew lead by J.J. & Kathy. I’ll miss everyone but I’m glad to know that we’ve been making something exceptional together, to share with the waiting world.”

While Episode IX is still undergoing principal photography and does not land in movie houses until December, it is becoming more of a reality for excited fans hearing that actors are now officially wrapping filming on their scenes. Directed by J. J. Abrams, Star Wars: Episode IX stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams. Carrie Fisher will appear as General Leia Organa through the use of previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. 

Star Wars: Episode IX will be released in theaters on December 19, 2019.
