Dominic Monaghan, whose rule on Episode IX has still not yet been disclosed, revealed in an Instagram story post that only J.J. Abrams himself knows the title for the upcoming Star Wars film. You can see his response to one fan’s question in the image below:
Have you ever watched the series Lost? If you have, then you know by now that J.J. Abrams isn’t the easiest person to decipher when it comes to his stories. More than that, you may not know the true meaning of the story he’s trying to tell until you’re well into the story itself. This may not necessarily apply to Star Wars: Episode IX, but it could be another instance of him playing hard-to-get when it comes to his story.
Given how big Star Wars: Episode IX will no doubt be, coupled with the expectations from fans going into the movie, the title would have to be a pretty big deal. Fans will no doubt line up to see a Star Wars movie regardless, but J.J. Abrams holding the title close to the chest is a way to keep them guessing and speculating. Would you want the title to just be revealed already? What are some of your guesses as to what the next Star Wars film will be called? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
Directed by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: Episode IX stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Kelly Marie Tran, Domhnall Gleeson, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Joonas Suotamo, Richard E. Grant, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Jimmy Vee, Greg Grunberg, Dominic Monaghan and Matt Smith.
The film will blast its way into a movie theater near you on December 20, 2019.
