First ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ Trailer Reveals The Film’s Title

Lucasfilm released the first trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX today during the film’s panel at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago.

The first trailer which reveals the film’s title gives us our first look at the film which will serve as a conclusion to the sequel trilogy, as well as all entire nine film Skywalker Saga.

Directed by J. J. Abrams, Star Wars: Episode IX stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Dominic Monaghan, Matt Smith, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams. Carrie Fisher will appear as General Leia Organa through the use of previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters December 20, 2019.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood this weekend for the latest news on the future of the Star Wars franchise as we expect to learn more about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, as well as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and The Mandalorian, which will feature Pedro Pascal as a lone gunslinger after the events of Return of the Jedi. The series which is expected to premiere with the launch of Disney+ this year hails from Jon Favreau also stars Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte.

While Lucasfilm has several projects including new trilogies from both Rian Johnson and Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss in the works along with a second Disney+ series featuring Diego Luna reprising his Rogue One: A Star Wars Story role as Cassian Andor, we do not expect to learn any new details regarding these new projects at Celebration. The Rogue One prequel series will follow the Cassian Andor working as an intelligence operative during the formative years of the Rebel Alliance. Production on the project is expected to begin later this year after Diego Luna completes his work on the second season of Narcos: Mexico.
