The title of Rian Johnson’s upcoming Star Wars movie has been shrouded in secrecy for a very long time now, but that changes today.

Disney and Lucasfilm have officially announced that the next installment in the episodic saga films is called Star Wars: The Last Jedi. That’s not one of the rumored titles that have been floating around over the past few months, but it’s still perfect.

As Rian Johnson told USA Today last month, Episode VIII‘s title has been set ever since he wrote the film’s first draft. It’s clear that Disney and Lucasfilm were waiting for the Rogue One train to slow down before revealing it, but it’s rather surprising that the announcement came a day after the Gareth Edwards-directed spin-off crossed the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office.

Written and directed by Johnson, The Last Jedi stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis, as well as franchise newcomers Laura Dern, Kelly Marie Tran and Benicio del Toro.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens on December 15, 2017. Stay tuned for the latest news from a galaxy far, far away!
